Screen Studio features and pricing were checked on screen.studio in October 2026. Its current personal plans are $29 monthly or $9 per month billed yearly, with every feature included. New one-time licences are no longer sold. Screen Studio supports macOS only, and prices or product terms can change.

Three differences

Publish an experience people can click through

MakeMeDemo creates interactive HTML walkthroughs with steps and hotspots as well as MP4 and GIF. Screen Studio produces exceptionally polished linear video and GIF, but its official product page does not list clickable product walkthroughs as an output.

Record on Windows and generate the whole narrative

MakeMeDemo supports native macOS and Windows recording, then can write the narration, add hotspots and generate voiceover. Screen Studio is deliberately Mac-only and focuses on refining the visuals, cursor, camera, audio and edit of a recording.

Create multilingual versions under a one-time licence

MakeMeDemo can generate new voice tracks in 19 languages and is sold as a one-time licence. Screen Studio now uses a recurring monthly or yearly subscription and does not present translation as a core capability.

When Screen Studio is the better choice

Choose Screen Studio when the final deliverable is a visually exceptional Mac screen recording. Its automatic and manual zoom systems, cursor reconstruction, motion blur, camera cutout and layout transitions, aspect-ratio adaptation, transcript editing, iPhone and iPad capture, 4K 60 fps export and native Apple-silicon performance go considerably deeper than MakeMeDemo’s video presentation tools.

Questions

How much does Screen Studio cost?

The official site lists $29 per month on the monthly plan, or $9 per month billed yearly. Every Screen Studio feature is included in both. Students and educators can request a 40% discount.

Does Screen Studio support Windows?

No. Its official FAQ says Screen Studio supports macOS only and has no near-future plans for Windows. MakeMeDemo supports both macOS and Windows.

Does Screen Studio process recordings locally?

Yes. Screen Studio says recordings are stored and processed locally, including local transcription. Data leaves the Mac only when the user chooses features such as shareable links, shared projects, cloud transcription or AI voiceover.

Can MakeMeDemo replace Screen Studio?

For clickable demos, AI-generated narration, multilingual versions, Windows recording and self-hosted interactive files, often yes. Screen Studio remains stronger when the goal is the most polished Mac video with advanced cursor motion, camera layouts, transcript editing, device capture and 4K 60 fps output.
